The second of my featured Bloggers in the Spotlight is Liz from Liz Loves Books http://lizlovesbooks.com/
Thanks for agreeing to be part of my Blogger in the Spotlight feature. First of all, what books/authors did you enjoy as a child?
Early it was all about Enid Blyton. From about age 13 it was Stephen King and Victoria Holt. But I used to devour books then as I do now so read a lot of everything and anything! I had the almost required Jilly Cooper experience and went through a horsey phase – then spent a few pleasant months inhaling Agatha Christie books.
What made you want to start blogging?
It was suggested by the lovely Sharon Sant – I used to review via Goodreads only, and met her via Twitter. She thought a blog would be a good idea. It was also suggested as a good outlet for me as I suffer from Depression and Anxiety (although I manage it VERY well now) I’m so glad I took all that advice!
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
Having the chance to absolutely RAVE about the books I adore – and the fact that it is, these days, very helpful to writers to get the reviews – it makes me feel like I’m giving something back for all the joy and often life saving experiences they’ve given me with their novels.
Tell me about your blog – sell yourself!
Gosh that’s a hard one. All I can REALLY promise is that every review you read will come straight from my heart, so if I love a book you’ll know it – AND hopefully you can find your next great read there.
What’s your favourite book you’ve reviewed so far this year? Or favourite three if you really can’t choose.
The Dark Inside by Rod Reynolds. Seriously. I loved that book so much I want to marry it.
What are you reading just now?
I’m currently on a few – The new Elizabeth George Lynley mystery, Chris Holm’s The Killing Kind and I’m midway through the Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant which I’m loving.
Tell me about your reading habits: book or kindle, bed or bath, morning or evening?
Book and Kindle – Real book every time where possible but I’ll take my kindle EVERYWHERE so I’m never without a book. I read in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. I never stop! Well except to go on Twitter….
How can people follow your blog or connect with you on social media?
There are various buttons you can push on the blog to follow or get email updates (yes you can tell how technically minded I am) and I’m @Lizzy11268 on Twitter. Find me there I’ll tell you the rest!
And finally, if you could be a character in any book you have read, who would it be and why?
Oh I’d be Maeve Kerrigan from Jane Casey’s novels for sure. I want to be best friends with Derwent! (And as funny and quirky as she is)
