I saw this on Kate’s blog (Bibliophile Book Club) and thought it would be fun to join in. http://lindasbookbag.com/ I tag you next Linda if you have time to do it.
1. What is your middle name?
I don’t have one!
2. What is your favourite drink?
Tea! I love a big cup of Earl Grey in the morning. If I’m out I might have a latte but always in a cup, never a glass! I am also rather fond of red wine.
3. What is your favourite song at the moment?
Wasn’t Expecting That by Jamie Lawson – a complete love story wrapped up in a sweet wee song. Need a hankie for the last couple of lines though.
4. What is your favourite food?
A medium rare steak in a red wine jus with potato dauphinoise and asparagus
5. What is the last thing you bought?
Rather boring I’m afraid – some veg, cheese and cereal.
6. Favourite book of all time?
So many books how to pick just one? One book I love though is Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks.
7. Favourite Colour?
Probably blue
8. Do you have any pets?
Nope. We had a couple of hamsters when my girls were younger but they have now gone to the big hamster wheel in the sky.
9. Favourite Perfume?
Lou Lou – my husband gave me a bottle not long after we started going out and it has been a firm favourite ever since.
10 – Favourite holiday?
I think this is probably American in origin and means Christmas, Easter etc but I’d pick the September weekend. This is a local holiday for us so means prices are cheaper for a start! I like to go somewhere where I can enjoy the Autumn colours starting to develop and hopefully it’s still quite mild. Center Parcs Whinfell Forest is a favourite for this time of year.
11. Are you married?
Yes, I have been very happily married for over 18 years.
12. Have you ever been out the country? If so, how many times?
No idea how many times in total but have been to America twice, Spain three times, Italy probably three times as well and France too many times to count.
13. Do you speak any other language?
I learned French, German and a bit Gaelic when younger but really could only say I can still speak French. Not fluently but enough to get by on holiday.
14. How many siblings do you have?
I have one wee brother although he’s not so wee, towering over me by about 8 inches!
15. What is your favourite store?
I’m not sure I have one, I’m not a big fan of shopping. I like Lakeland though, but would need a bigger kitchen for all the things I’d like to buy from there!
16. Favourite restaurant?
We have a restaurant near us called EH15 which I really like. It’s a training restaurant for catering students from the local college. The food is always fabulous, the service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. And the bonus is we can walk home in ten minutes!
17. When was the last time you cried?
More and more often these days – must be my age! Apart from a couple of minutes ago when I listened to that Jamie Lawson song again, it would be earlier today when I was listening to a news story about the youngest organ donor in Britain.
18. Favourite Blog?
This is very hard as I follow quite a few! I only starting becoming aware of blogging earlier this year and started this one in April. So I’m not going to choose a favourite but just mention three that were among the first I followed and still enjoy reading.
19. Favourite Movie?
That’s easy – It’s A Wonderful Life starring James Stewart. Watch it every year and love it – and always cry at the end. ‘Merry Christmas Bedford Falls!’
20. Favourite TV show?
I have quite a few: Strictly Come Dancing, Who Do You Think You Are, QI XL, Downton Abbey (about to finish sob!), Fargo, Scandal, House of Cards and The Good Wife
21. PC or Mac?
I have a PC.
22. What phone do you have?
Recently upgraded to a Moto G3 and I am a little bit in love with it!
23. What’s your favourite pastime?
That’ll be reading then!
24. Can you cook?
Yes and I love cooking. I like baking too but while my efforts may taste great they don’t always look pretty – presentation isn’t my greatest skill. My favourite cook is Nigella. I have almost all her books and her recipes always work out so well.
25. Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
I have my ears pierced but no tattoos.
Great to find out more about you and many thanks for mentioning my blog x

Love this feature – such a lovely insight into people’s lives! I must ask, Joanne – where do you buy Lou Lou? It is my all-time favourite, but it seemed to disappear a year or so ago and I haven’t been able to buy it – I’ve had to return to Rive Gauche, another old favourite, but I still miss Lou Lou! x

Last time I bought it at the airport but I got some from a friend for my birthday this year so she must have bought it in town. Will ask her.
