Thanks for agreeing to be part of my Blogger in the Spotlight feature. First of all, would you tell me a little about yourself?

Thank you for having me 🙂

Sure, I’m Laura… Daughter, sister, wife (almost!) auntie, friend and a massive book butterfly! I live on the south coast with my OH and love nothing more than reading or spending time with my nieces. Oh I’m also a carer for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s which I love!

What books/authors did you enjoy as a child?

There’s far too many to pick from as its all so varied. My early career was in childcare so classics like “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt” or “The Hungry Caterpillar” were popular, and I always remember visiting my nan and picking up her Mills&Boon books!

What made you want to start blogging?

My friend suggested it after asking me for recommendations of what to read, plus I was getting annoy with picking up books I’d already read so it seemed a great way to keep track and connect with other book buds!

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

Meeting new bloggers is great but I’ve found a new love of writing so reviews for a book is now the norm and part of the reading process for me. Oh that and ARCs.. I won’t lie, gotta love a free book, I just can’t keep track!

Tell me about your blog – sell yourself!

My blog has become my baby and it’s still in the growing process. I’ve a mixture of reviews, author spotlights/interviews and promo posts and about to start on guest posts too… But take a look for yourself, there’s room for everyone in my lil BookCorner 😉

What’s your favourite book you’ve reviewed so far this year? Or favourite three if you really can’t choose.

Ooh that’s a tough one. Being a book review and since having my blog I’ve discovered so many new authors and titles I wouldn’t have normally picked out… Big Little Lies by Liane Moriaty is definitely up there but I equally loved My Sisters Secret by Tracy Bucannan and The Sun In Her Eyes by Paige Toon.

What are you reading just now?

I’m in between books as I write this. I’ve just finished a debut novel from Amy Avanzino called Wake Up call which is about a woman losing the last 5 years of her life after she gets amnesia from an accident, and I’m about to start Rainy Day Sisters by Kate Hewitt.

Tell me about your reading habits: book or kindle, bed or bath, morning or evening?

Definitely book, you can’t beat that new paperback smell but currently it’s been a lot of kindle thanks to ARCs!

My favourite reading place is my swivel chair, especially if it’s rainy outside. I curl up in that with a big mug of tea and can easily lose a day.

And finally, if you could be a character in any book you have read, who would it be and why?

Another difficult, but good, question!! Having thought long and hard about this one I’m sticking with myself 😉 “My Topsy Turvy Adventure” was bought for me when I was little by my mum and I’m the main character!!
