Very pleased to welcome another #BookConnectors author today, M E Fletcher author of La Cosa Nostra books. Her first book was published in November last year and you can order a copy here: La Cosa Nostra
Thanks for joining me Beth. First of all, would you tell me a little about yourself?
Well let’s see, where to begin? I just recently celebrated my 48th birthday. I’m a mother of one son and grandmother to one beautiful little girl. I am not a very complex person. I prefer the simple things in life. I am the type of person that would rather have an evening in watching movies or catching up on reading than to be out and about town. I keep a very small circle of friends. Ironically, the majority of my friends are actually family members. I began writing over 30 years ago, but didn’t make that leap of faith into publication until a couple of years ago.
What inspired you to start writing?
I would have to say my mother. I would sit and tell her and my friends stories in my teen years. As my mother realized that I could make them up as I went along, she encouraged me to put them down on paper.
Tell me about your journey to publication?
Well, as I mentioned above I’ve been writing for over 30 years. However, in the many different times of moving and relocating across the country many of those were lost in the shuffle. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that the fire to write was ignited to the point of wanting to publish my work. I’ve chosen to stick with smaller publishing companies because I feel they are more attentive to the authors. That is not to say that I haven’t sent my work to the bigger publishing companies. I just noticed many of them do not take the time to reply, which is understandable. I’m sure they receive such a high volume of submissions it would be nearly impossible to answer them all.
In a nutshell, what is your latest book about?
La Cosa Nostra (Volume 1) is a romantic suspense or romantic action-adventure concerning the life of Janie Fontaine and her entanglement with the Calvanzo crime family. It weaves the tale of how she came from a small town in Louisiana to be married to the mob boss’s assistant. Janie’s life wasn’t easy growing up, and by all rights becomes far more controlled and endangered with the meeting of Rico Salatino.
Do you have a work in progress just now?
Yes, Volume 2 of the La Cosa Nostra series which is sure to be just as suspenseful as the first.
What are you reading just now?
I am currently not reading anything at the present moment because of the editing and writing of the series. When I am in the author mode it is hard for me to make that transition into the reader mode.
Tell me about your reading habits: book or kindle, bed or bath, morning or evening?
I like both book and kindle, though kindle is more convenient because I can carry more than one at a time. I generally read in the evening in the bed, because it helps me to relax before going to sleep.

And finally, if you could be a character in any book you have read, who would it be and why?
Katniss Everdeen, because she is one bad ass! She’s intelligent with awesome skills. She knows what she wants and what she needs, and smart enough to know the difference and how to go for both.
It won’t let me tweet this Joanne so will re tweet your tweet instead x

I don’t know what has happened this morning. It let me share it on Twitter via the button but didn’t do the automatic post it should have done. Hopefully just a blip but will see what happens with next post.
