Hi Thea and thanks for joining me on the blog. First of all, would you tell me a little about yourself?
I’ve always enjoyed writing but didn’t take it up seriously until about three years ago, when the biography I wrote about my grandfather was published. I am widowed, have three children and live in South Wales. I love writing and my latest book was fascinating to write.
What inspired you to start writing?
It’s always been a part of me and what I wanted to do from an early age. However, when I had to leave work as a lecturer due to a degenerative disease I joined an online writing group. It was the leader and members of the group who kept me motivated until my book was complete. They truly inspired me.
Tell me about your journey to publication
It is a very rocky road. I though I would never get published as the rejections flooded in. I wanted the biography published, it was family history. Finally I self published it and it became quite successful with great reviews. Later on a publisher offered me a contract for my crime series and took over the publishing of the biographies as well.
In a nutshell, what is your latest book about?
Reincarnation. Soulmates are cursed not to be together in life after life. Each life ends in tragedy, but can they find the karmic answers which will keep them together?
How did you come up with the title for your book?
It came to my daughter in a dream where she was spoken to by my husband.
How do you plan to celebrate/did you celebrate publication day?
By telling everyone about the book
Do you have a work in progress just now?
Yes, the fifth novel in my crime series,
What’s your favourite book you’ve read in the past few months? Or favourite three if you really can’t choose!
The house we grew up in by Lisa Jewell
What are you reading just now?
May 2016. For Reasons Unknown by Michael Wood
Tell me about your reading habits: book or kindle, bed or bath, morning or evening?
Kindle in bed and any other time I can find
How can people follow you or connect with you on social media?
Best to follow my Facebook page (all links are below)
And finally, if you could be a character in any book you have read, who would it be and why?
This should be someone else’s book, but honestly I would like to be my own character, Resa James, in my crime series. This is because she is the type of woman I would like to be.
