It was always going to be difficult to narrow the more than 140 books I’ve read in 2016 down to a Top Ten. With so many brilliant books read this year, I have failed and chosen 13! These are books which have touched me, made me laugh, made me cry or made an impact so that I am still thinking about the characters and stories. To read my reviews of any of these books, click on the title under each book cover. So in no particular order, here are my top reads of 2016.
The Silent Hours by Cesca Major
In Her Wake by Amanda Jennings
The Farm at the Edge of the World by Sarah Vaughan
A Suitable Lie by Michael J Malone
Another Love by Amanda Prowse
The Mountain in my Shoe by Louise Beech
Under a Pole Star by Stef Penney
With Our Blessing by Jo Spain
A Fine House in Trinity by Lesley Kelly
Time After Time by Hannah McKinnon
The Secret Wife by Gill Paul
Somewhere Inside of Happy by Anna McPartlin
Some gorgeous books there Joanne.

I knew I shouldn’t look but of course I did 🙂 So now there’s going to be even more books on the TBR list. I have read a few of these but that still leaves plenty more.

I had to come back here to comment. I saw “In Her Wake” in your list and I read it. One word best describes how I feel about this book. WOW! I had no idea what this book was about going into the reading process. I read it quickly in one day since Bella and her amazing back story had me hooked.

I just had a wee look back at that book and can still recall quite a bit about it which is no mean feat after 6 years!
