People who know me know that I rarely swear. Nothing against people who do and it doesn’t bother me in a book but it’s just not me. This book is being marketed with the hashtag #WTFthatending so it’s not a spoiler to say you can expect quite the twist at the end. Could the book live up to the hype? Well I’m pleased to say it does! And if you’d like to find out for yourself, make sure you enter my giveaway for not just a giveaway of the book but a giveaway for a SIGNED copy!
This is going to be a difficult review to write without giving anything away but you can be sure I won’t – I hate spoilers in reviews. In fact, I’d say to be very careful about reading many reviews in case anyone has inadvertently – or worse, deliberately – given away something important. In this book, you really need to have no hint of the ending before you read it. Although you may want to go back and re-read later with a fresh pair of eyes!
Louise is a single mother who meets a rather gorgeous man on a rare night out. They share a passionate kiss and she thinks it might lead to more but he says he can’t do this and leaves. Disappointing for Louise to say the least. However, elsewhere in her life things are looking good for her as she is just about to start a new job. Imagine her horror when she discovers her new boss, David, is the-man-in-the-pub – awkward! She soon discovers he is married, which is why he didn’t go any further when they met.
Even more awkward, Louise literally bumps into his wife Adele and somehow finds herself developing a friendship with her. She soon discovers that Adele seems a very vulnerable woman, very dependant on her husband, and begins to worry that Adele is a victim of domestic abuse both physical and psychological. So the thing to do would be confront David at this point right? Wrong, Louise keeps her friendship with Adele secret from David and her connection to David secret from Adele. This is never going to go well is it?
And I’m not really going to say much more about the characters or the story except that that all through the book you will be questioning what do you really know? And just who can you believe and trust? This is definitely a book to read for yourself to find out just what is going on.
So that ending? Well, I was trying so hard all the way through to work out what was happening and had a few theories, all of which were wrong. So I got to the end and would never have guessed it. And then I got to the REAL ending – #WTFthatending!

From the back of the book
Don’t Trust This Book
Don’t Trust These People
Don’t Trust Yourself
And whatever you do, DON’T give away that ending…
Louise
Since her husband walked out, Louise has made her son her world, supporting them both with her part-time job. But all that changes when she meets…
David
Young, successful and charming – Louise cannot believe a man like him would look at her twice let alone be attracted to her. But that all comes to a grinding halt when she meets his wife…
Adele
Beautiful, elegant and sweet – Louise’s new friend seems perfect in every way. As she becomes obsessed by this flawless couple, entangled in the intricate web of their marriage, they each, in turn, reach out to her.
But only when she gets to know them both does she begin to see the cracks… Is David really is the man she thought she knew and is Adele as vulnerable as she appears?
Just what terrible secrets are they both hiding and how far will they go to keep them?
Oh – not sure about the answer to that one… Still thinking

I’ve been waiting to read your post until I finished the book myself, which I have literally just done. I’m now wondering how to review it, just like you probably did, but you’ve done a great job, Joanne.
