April to June 2020 is a time when many of us went nowhere – except perhaps to our doorsteps on a Thursday evening to clap for keyworkers. I think we all started to realise just how important some people in our society are. Not just the wonderful NHS and frontline staff but supermarket workers, delivery drivers, rubbish collectors, posties and so on. And I’d like to add authors to that list. “Reading give us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are” is a phrase I saw often during that period and that was certainly true for me.
I have chosen eight books I read during April to June which I have found particularly memorable. Click the titles to read my reviews.
The Secret Seaside Escape by Heidi Swain
The Island Girls by Noelle Harrison
The Little Bookshop of Love Stories by Jaimie Admans
The Secrets of Sunshine by Phaedra Patrick
Four Minutes to Save a Life by Anna Stuart
Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
Are any of these books amongst your favourite reads of 2020? What books did you find helped you escape reality? Come back next Monday to find out my selections for
July to September.
Loved Hamnet! In my top 10 for sure!

I’ve read The Secret Seaside Escape and The Switch – very much enjoyed both. And now you’ve given me some more to go and get 🙂
