The Bed and Breakfast on the Beach by Kat French #bookreview @KFrenchBooks @AvonBooksUK

I was flicking through my Kindle recently, if you can do such a thing, and realised just how many books I have on there still to read. Eek! So often I’m reading new releases, that books I’ve had for ages get rather neglected. I fancied something summery and light-hearted to help me hang on to the last remnants of summer. When I saw the bright, cheery cover of this book, I remembered how much I had enjoyed Kat French’s The Piano Man Project (which now has the new title of My Perfect Stranger) and I thought that this book would fit the bill perfectly.

The three female characters of Frankie, Winnie and Stella are all so likeable. For various reasons, although just in their 30s, all are looking for a fresh start. Though I think it’s fair to say a good amount of gin had been taken when they agreed to take over a B&B at Skelidos, the (fictional) Greek island they are holidaying on! Gin features quite a lot in the book as the friends find that Villa Valentina has strong, historical and somewhat secret links to the island’s gin. A gin and tonic is just the thing to cool down in hot weather and quite a lot was imbibed during the course of the book.

You’ll find the heat of the Greek sunshine in this book of course but there’s plenty of heat and passion between many of the characters too. The sexual chemistry sizzled off the page and may leave you thinking about taking a cold shower!

The Bed & Breakfast on the Beach is such a feel-good, escapist read with plenty of sun, sand and yes, the other one too! It’s a sparkling story celebrating female friendship, fun and romance.

About the book

A gorgeous summer read to escape with this summer!

A Greek island solves all life’s problems…doesn’t it?

Winnie, Stella and Frankie have been best friends forever.
When their lives unexpectedly unravel, they spontaneously decide to buy a gorgeous B&B on a remote Greek island. Drenched in hot sun, Villa Valentina is the perfect escape from reality. But when Winnie meets Jesse, their brooding neighbour, she finds that Greece is full of its own complications – not least how attractive he is…

Meanwhile, Frankie and Stella are discovering that Villa Valentina has its own secrets – starting with the large supply of gin in the cellar and the arrival of a famous rock band. A band with one very good-looking member who just might distract Frankie from thoughts of her husband…
