Hello Sue and thanks for joining me. First of all, would you tell my blog readers a little about yourself?

Ok. Well, I was born in Liverpool and spent my first twelve years living there, until my family moved to a town in Lancashire called Skelmersdale.  I am married to Derek, and have two grown up daughters and five grandchildren. In my spare time, I love walking, shopping, reading and meeting up with friends, maybe taking the odd watercolour painting class. I am strictly an amateur!

In a nutshell, what is your Christmas book about?

It’s the story of a chance encounter with a long lost love, family angst and the main character wondering about the security of her job at the cinema. Will our main character Sarah get her happy ever after? Or will misunderstandings along the way prevent this? It has all the Christmas feels and of course, a gorgeous happy ending!

How did you come up with the title for your book?

I always associate Red Robins with Christmas, and as the story is set around a cottage, it made perfect sense!

How do you plan to celebrate Christmas this year?

With all of my family as usual. We often make plans to do something a bit different, but invariably end up at my house for Christmas lunch. I love it though. There are usually about fourteen of us! After that, I sometimes take a hotel break somewhere with my husband for a few days, to do some walking and just relaxing.

You have £5 to buy a Secret Santa gift – what would you buy?

Two lottery tickets and a bar of chocolate!

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

Driving home for Christmas by Chris Rea. It doesn’t have any particular significance for me, I just like the song.

What’s your essential Christmas food or drink?

It has to be a bottle of Baileys. And a tin of Cadbury’s Roses!

What Christmas book are you looking forward to reading this year?

I’ve heard there’s a good one called Christmas at Red Robin Cottage…..  Seriously though, I don’t have any lined up at the moment, but I know I will have at least a couple to work my way through over the festive season. I cannot walk past a book shop without buying something!

How can people follow you or connect with you on social media?

I can be reached on Facebook, Instagram and twitter, search Sue Roberts author.

And finally, what’s your favourite Christmas tree decoration?

A little white crocheted Angel that comes out every year. It was a gift from a colleague of my husband who is from Latvia. His grandmother made it and I treasure it.

Thanks Sue for joining me today. Christmas at Red Robin Cottage is published by Bookouture and available now. You can order a copy here: Christmas at Red Robin Cottage
