Well, did everyone have a good Christmas? I hope that you got lots of lovely new books to enjoy! Here we are with my final selection of Top Reads for 2022. It was a really excellent year for Christmas fiction I thought, so there are quite a few festive reads included. Make a note for next year if you prefer to read seasonally. One author makes a second appearance in my Top Reads for this year with a fabulous book set in my home city of Edinburgh. Click the titles under the book covers if you’d like to read my reviews.
Women Like Us by Amanda Prowse
The Keeper of Stories by Sally Page
Flora’s Christmas of New Beginnings by Kirsty Ferry
A White Christmas on Winter Street by Sue Moorcroft
Snowed in for Christmas by Sarah Morgan
The Christmas Holiday by Phillipa Ashley
Keeping a Christmas Promise by Jo Thomas
The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan
The Last Party by Clare Mackintosh
So that’s it for 2022. You’ll no doubt have noticed that most of the books I’ve selected for my Top Reads this year once again have been predominately romantic, feel-good fiction. There has been a lot of debate again this year about how this genre doesn’t get the same respect as other genres and is frequently ignored when it comes to ‘must read’ lists in newspapers and magazines. As you can see, I have a lot of time for books that make me smile and make me feel happy. And there’s nothing wrong with that. There is room for all kinds of tastes when it comes to reading. Read what you like and enjoy what you like!
Knowing your reading tastes is the key to a satisfying reading life!

Looks like quite a few of us are losing ourselves in romance this year and there’s nothing wrong with that. Happy Reading in 2023 x
